You might think people got upset about this, but no

The Good Life Letter

8th February 2019

  • I expected outrage about my email but instead got lots of curious questions…
  • This ‘illegal’ remedy can ease pain, anxiety, depression and the symptoms of serious diseases
  • How could CBD help YOU?
Back in June I caused CONTROVERSY and OUTRAGE.

My issue of the Good Life Letter advocating cannabis-based products for better health really rocked the boat.

In my email I pointed out there’s evidence that it can help with Alzheimer’s, reduce chronic pain, lower arthritic inflammation, ease the pain of multiple sclerosis and relieve anxiety problems.

Of course, this was cannabis I was talking about, an illegal drug, so the response was…

Immoral! Wrong! Illegal! Unethical! Unacceptable!

That wasn’t the response I got at all.

Quite the opposite, in fact.

Far from people being morally offended, this was one of those letters that aroused a lot of interest from readers with health problems that current medicines and therapies aren’t helping with.

The reaction was positive… curious… excited, even.

And actually, I’m not surprised. The tide really has turned with cannabis-based products as more and more stories come out about people who are experiencing extraordinary relief from pain, anxiety, depression and the symptoms of serious diseases.

In March last year there was even a story about a woman in Coventry who claimed to have cured her terminal cancer with cannabis oil.

Joy Smith told The Mirror that she was given six weeks to live when she was diagnosed with cancer in her stomach and bowel… yet two years on she got the all clear.

If you’re interested the article is online here.

Whether it was the cannabis oil or not that did it I’ll leave for a separate letter.

My point is that the continuing coverage of this subject is creating a wave of interest across the world, and the cannabis genie is well and truly out of the bottle.

Laws are changing on cannabis, as are public and political opinions.

But this isn’t to say it’s now all legal and a free for all.

The legal vs the illegal

In cannabis there is something known as tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC) which is the stuff that gets people high. The THC content of any cannabis oil product must be no more than 0.2%.

Some of the stories you hear about parents of epileptic kids not being allowed to import cannabis oil are related to the illegal levels of THC.

However, CBD is another component that doesn’t make you high, yet it can have huge health benefits.
Scientific studies have shown that:

  • It can reduce symptoms of cancer treatment, including nausea and vomiting
  • It can increase mobility and reduce pain in multiple sclerosis sufferers
  • It can reduce inflammation for rheumatoid arthritis sufferers
  • It can reduce anxiety
  • It is a powerful natural antidepressant

Other research has shown its benefits for sleep disorders, epilepsy, migraines, MS, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s and some skin conditions.

We’re talking about a major natural health product here. Something that could help a lot of people with some serious problems in life.

No wonder then that we’re seeing a boom in CBD-related products.

CBD oil is often mixed with olive oil or coconut oil in liquids, sprays, teas and capsules.  You can get CBD body lotion, bath scrub, lip balm… even Coca-Cola claim to have an interest in putting out a CBD version of their drinks.
Because it is classed as a ‘food supplement’ anyone selling CBD cannot make medical claims, but it may soon be classed as a medicine, which means it will be subject to more trials and research.

However in the very latest update from the Foods Standards Agency (FSA) they are now saying that it is to be classed as a ‘Novel Food’ and as such will now be subject to further discussions.

Some in the media saw this statement as a portent of doom for the product claiming that Trading Standards would soon be raiding shops to remove it from sale…

…but this is not the case.

What the FSA actually say is;

“We are meeting with relevant industry representative bodies, local authorities and other stakeholders to clarify how to achieve compliance in the marketplace in a proportionate manner.” FSA website, 2019

So that’s the current situation.

But what about you?

How could CBD help YOU?

If you think you might benefit from CBD, then you might be interested to know that I’m seeking out a reliable, high quality, natural product that will give you the best possible benefits.

Because you should beware that many of the currently available CBD products are of varying quality – plus a lot of businesses are simply jumping on the bandwagon and adding traces into their products so they can triple the price!

Also, understand that this is all very new, so there is an element of experimentation right now.  Nobody knows exactly what kind of product will work for the majority of people.

So when you try products, you need to test out a few different strengths and formats.

The product I am looking at is a natural food supplement, which means it will be something you can safely introduce and control the levels.

There will also be a trial so that you can test it out before you make any commitment.

If possible, hold fire on jumping into any CBD remedy right now and let me give you some more information over the coming weeks to help you decide.

Until then, if you have aches and pains, or health niggles you need to sort out, don’t forget to check out what’s new on the shop: here

Yours, as ever
