The natural healthy oil that we’ve only just begun to appreciate

Isn’t Argan Oil fantastic!

There can be no doubt now that this ethical, wholly natural and fantastically effective product has really made itself known to the world.

The Daily Telegraph says so.

It always makes me smile when someone in the mainstream finally wakes up to what a great story there is to be told about natural health.

And to be honest I welcome them doing it more often as the bigger the exposure we can get for these types of product the better it will be for all. Apart from the bad guys in Big Pharma that is!

For many years I have been extolling the virtues of pure natural Argan Oil, and highlighting its range of health benefits.

The piece in the Telegraph last week focussed on the [skin moisturising] and [cleansing] properties, and also the tremendously healthy impact of using the oil to cook with or as a salad dressing.

They made a big issue that exclusive stores such as Fortnum & Mason, Selfridges and Harrods were stocking the products, and that they had become best sellers.

The well heeled of West London are absolutely right to seek out this fantastic ethical and natural product for its cosmetic and culinary use (mind you they could pay a whole lot less for better quality products!) But...

They’re missing out on the OTHER great reason to get excited about Argan Oil and that’s the major metabolic effect it has.

This oil is yet another example of a wholesome and natural product which helps in weight management by changing how our bodies burn calories, lowers blood pressure by affecting fluid balance and is just as good as the hated statins at lowering blood cholesterol levels.

A truly beneficial product

So, why do I keep banging on about this being an ethical product then?

Well, that’s one of the main points about the Telegraph piece.

This oil is massively important for women’s collectives in Morocco, allowing them access to money to support their families.

About 3 million people in the poorest regions of the country rely on the income from Argan Oil, money that helps provide education and housing for those who would not be able to afford it otherwise. There are also schemes developed by UNESCO to protect the Argan trees to preserve the health benefits and also ensure that more lives can benefit from the extraction of the oil.

As you see the oil offers benefits both economically to these traditional tribeswomen and to the environment especially as it supports natural extraction methods.

The real value of the oil cannot be underestimated either, it works in so many ways to help your body, for instance;

- Cardio-vascular health; the oil is reported to help control cholesterol, lower blood pressure and promote the dilation of blood vessels leading to better circulation.
In France they awarded a prize to Professor A Derouiche, a biochemist who has worked to prove the beneficial effects of this oil on cardio-vascular health and showed how valuable it is in helping maintain a healthy heart and blood system.

Gastro-intestinal health; being rich in linoleic, palmitic and oleic oils as well as a rich source of vitamin E, carotenes and good fatty acids means that it helps with the digestive process – and is even better for you than olive oil.

Skin, hair & nails; for many years the west were only interested in the way Argan was able to improve the looks of the body, helping smooth skin, strengthen brittle nails and add a lustre to hair. This power has not diminished so if you buy these capsules for no other reason it will be money well spent.
It was this cosmetic use which attracted the attention of much of the popular press recently, however many of the products that claimed to have Argan Oil in them had levels too low to make a difference. That’s why you need to source pure oil.

- Bones, joints, nervous system & boosting the immune system; there really are few of the body's major functions which aren’t enhanced by this wonderful natural oil.

Weight management; this simple oil acts to suppress hunger pangs and so helps you control the amount of food you eat; and that can only lead to a drop in your waist size. In addition those taking the oil regularly report reduced levels of cholesterol without taking any other medication.

- Naturally enhanced libido; one of the impacts of poor circulation for us chaps is the inability to maintain erections, and that leads to emotional upset for both partners. By opening out the pelvic blood vessels Argan Oil has been shown to improve sexual function.

As you can see it doesn't leave too many stones unturned!

Don’t let your doctor off the hook about statins

Knowing that Argan Oil along with Bergamet and entirely natural ways to lower blood cholesterol levels should help those of you who are currently in discussion with your GPs.

Many people seem to be pushed towards taking potentially harmful statin drugs as a first point of control which has always struck me as plain stupid.

Science acknowledges that simple lifestyle changes and usage of these natural compounds is both risk free and effective in all but the most serious cases.

Whatever the Daily Express has to say about it – statins do have health risks.

Running stories in the last few weeks claiming that these hideous drugs can cut breast cancer risk, and that more people are on them but it’s costing the NHS less is pure PR control by Big Pharma and you SHOULD NOT believe them.

In the first case the research piece was about the effect lowered cholesterol has on breast cancer incidence, and had not one thing to do with taking any drugs.

In the second example of bad journalism they have been guilty of a ‘selective presentation of the facts’ by claiming that the bill has fallen.

What has actually been reported is that the spending per patient has reduced which is entirely consistent with any drug that has been in circulation for a period of time.

Competition and improved production methods always lead to a per unit cost reduction... in anything let alone drugs.

So, I would urge you to look upon such stories with scorn, see the vile hand of a PR agency at work with the benefits to shareholders rather than patients uppermost in their minds.

When someone like the Daily Telegraph begins to see that there is real and significant value in running stories about natural health then I begin to feel a little more positive about the media.

They are right to highlight the benefits of Argan Oil in the way that they have, the only issue is that they have just scratched the surface of the potential of this valuable and precious supplement –

Yours, as always
