The power of three natural remedies; Honey, Garlic and Vinegar

Sunday 29 December, 2013

There's something lurking in the depths of my wardrobe that's too terrifying to think about...

It scares the family, shocks strangers, and even frightens fish... my volumous swimming shorts.

Around about this time every year I pull them from the darkened recesses of my cupboard and give them an airing at my local pool, splashing determinedly up and down in a vain attempt to shed a few pounds.

And I’m not alone.

The pool is full of red faced hairy torpedoes doing their level best to regain their youthful six pack tummies, rather than their middle age beer barrel bellies.

As you know, I'm not a gym person. I think you can get as much out of a brisk 30minute walk as you can out of a gym membership and save yourself a few hundred pounds into the bargain.

But when the need strikes I do like a bit of a swim, and when it’s cold and windy outside being in the nice warm pool just reminds me of summer days in Portugal, and the fresh food to be enjoyed there.

And that’s my incentive to trim a few pounds – plus I know it will help reduce the pressure on my poor old aching knees.

Here’s some naturally slimming foods to try

There are various foods which speed up your metabolism and get fat moving out of your system:

- Apples and berries: These two fruits are rich in pectin, a chemical which actually limits the amount of fat your cells can absorb. It also helps to absorb waters from all the other foods you it, then 'turns the hose' onto your fat storing cells and flushes fatty deposits out of your system.

A great way to boost the benefits of apples is to have them fermented... not as cider though, try them as vinegar - Apple cider vinegar. This is great, because just a few splashes over your salad can have an enormous beneficial effect.

Because the apples have been fermented to make the vinegar, it contains additional acids which go round your cells picking up fatty deposits and flushing them out of your body.

- Citrus fruits: try and add citrus fruits to your meals, and if you fancy a snack, go for an orange. The vitamin C helps to dilute your fat stores, reducing its clinginess and making it easier for your body to clear it out.

- Horseradish. Maybe my subconscious has included this as an excuse to have a roast this Sunday, but horseradish has powerful fat dissolving properties that helps loosen fat and clean out your body.

And here's one that I thought was next to useless for ages:

- Lettuce. So, you thought there was no point to lettuce eh? Well, for years I did. But lettuce is the Clark Kent of the vegetable world.

It may seem weak and nerdy, but it contains high levels of iron and magnesium - two substances that give your liver a real boost.

Plus, they are both excellent diuretics, and wash away fatty cells like nobody's business. Truly the superman of the vegetable kingdom.

And if that wasn't good enough, I've found something even better:

The power of three great natural remedies combined

When it comes to detoxing the body, losing a few pounds or just boosting the metabolism you should reach for the magic of Honey, Garlic & Vinegar capsules

It might seem like some kind of nutritional alchemy, but these three miracles of natural health combine to give your dieting a huge boost.

Honey is packed with amino acids and essential minerals that help kick-start your body’s metabolism.  Honey also boosts your digestive system, helps reduce inflammation, and provides powerful antioxidants that can help prevent disease.

Garlic helps your body break down fat-soluble molecules. A report in The Lancet suggested that you can even neutralise the effects of high fat foods by adding garlic to your diet. Garlic can also boost your energy and libido, fight infection and control blood pressure.

Vinegar can put an end to hunger pangs. Studies have shown that vinegar reduces the blood sugar ‘spikes’ you get after eating. This means you don’t experience the blood sugar ‘crash’ which makes you so hungry. So with vinegar you can stave off those food cravings for longer. Vinegar is also good for joint pain relief, stomach upsets and general wellbeing.

On their own, these three ingredients are powerful natural remedies for a whole host of common problems.  But mix the trio together as part of a serious diet....

So, each of these have their part to play, which is good news – but these capsules are NOT magic diet pills, they will only help you trim down as long as you follow a good diet, and are prepared to make a few sacrifices.

What they will do is help you achieve the look you want; in my case they might stop the kids from recoiling in horror when I put my trunks on!

Here is what one of my readers told me last year;

“I'm indebted to you for the weight loss from the honey, garlic and vinegar capsules. Weight had slipped on through the menopause. It wouldn't shift by the usual cutting-down methods and exercise, which had always worked in the past.

“Over a period of 18 months I spoke to my doctor, a dietician and a herbalist, read widely and tried some ideas from other companies. What I was looking for was a way-of-life diet so the weight would go off and stay off and I would be eating healthily as well.

“But it was the honey, garlic and vinegar capsules that actually worked and shifted much of the excess weight.

“I have gone back to my original size in clothes, I feel very well and it's been a huge boost to my confidence. Furthermore the weight has stayed off.

“I also eat differently now and often include honey, garlic and cider vinegar in a meal.”

Yours, as always
